What happened to Cross Sell Bundles?

Short answer: The Cross Sell Bundle feature has been discontinued and is no longer available in FoxSell Bundles Plus. This decision was made due to platform limitations that caused inconsistent behavior in cart and checkout flows.

Why Cross Sell Bundles were discontinued

Cross Sell Bundles were designed to display bundle offers on existing product pages. However, the implementation faced challenges:

• Platform limitations: Shopify's platform support for this type of cross-selling was inconsistent
• Cart and checkout issues: The feature caused problems in cart and checkout flows that affected the customer experience
• Reliability concerns: These issues made the feature unreliable for merchants and their customers

Alternative approaches

While the Cross Sell Bundle widget is no longer available, you can still achieve similar outcomes using other FoxSell bundle types:

Option 1: Create dedicated bundle products

Instead of showing a bundle widget on existing product pages, create a standalone bundle product that customers can navigate to:

1. Create a Mix & Match or Fixed Bundle for your offer
2. Link to the bundle product from your product pages using Shopify's built-in linking features
3. Add the bundle to your navigation menus or collection pages

Option 2: Use Shopify's native cross-selling

Shopify offers built-in cross-selling features that may work for your use case:

• Shopify Search & Discovery app - Add complementary products to product pages
• Theme-based recommendations - Many themes support "You may also like" sections
• Manual product links - Add links to related bundles in your product descriptions

Option 3: Custom theme integration

If you need a specific cross-sell widget on product pages, you can:

1. Work with a developer to add a custom section to your theme
2. Link to your FoxSell bundle products from that section
3. This gives you full control over the placement and styling
