How to Setup Step Template on your store

The Step Template is a Mix & Match bundle template for guided build-your-own-bundle experiences. It lets shoppers move through each step, pick the right products, and complete the bundle in a clear flow.


Use this guide to install the Step Template on your theme and configure the bundle in FoxSell.


Before you start


Make sure you are using the new FoxSell dashboard experience. From the FoxSell app, you should see Mix & Match templates and the Step Template option.


Step 1: Open the Step Template


  1. Open FoxSell Bundles from your Shopify admin.
  2. Go to Mix & Match templates.

  1. Select Step Template.

  1. Click Use this template.


Step 2: Install the template on your theme


  1. Click Install template.

  1. Choose the Shopify theme where you want to use the template.

  1. Click Install.


Installing the template adds the required FoxSell template files to your selected theme. You will still need to place the section in Shopify's theme editor so shoppers can see it.


Step 3: Add the FoxSell Step section in Shopify


  1. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
  2. Click Edit Theme on the theme where you installed the template.

  1. Open the page or create a new product template where you want the bundle to appear.

  1. Click Add section **& select FoxSell Step**..

  1. Click Save.


Tip: Use the Step Template when you want shoppers to follow a guided routine, kit, or multi-part bundle flow.


Step 4: Configure bundle details


Back in FoxSell, fill in the basic bundle details:


  1. Add the internal Name for your team.
  2. Add the storefront Title shoppers will see.
  3. Choose your pricing setup.

You can use a fixed bundle price or a discount percentage depending on how you want the offer to work.


Step 5: Create your steps


Steps group products and define how many products shoppers must pick in each part of the bundle.


  1. Click Add step.
  2. Add a Step label, such as Step 1 or Choose your cleanser.
  3. Add an optional step description to guide shoppers.
  4. Choose the quantity rule for that step.

  1. Select the products available in that step.

  1. Repeat for each step in your bundle.


For example, a skincare routine could use steps like Cleanser, Serum, and Moisturizer.


Step 6: Add add-ons or free gifts, optional


If you want to offer extras, open the Add-ons section and choose how they should appear:


  • Add automatically: include the listed add-ons or free gifts automatically.
  • Add as a step: let shoppers choose add-ons in a dedicated step.

This is useful for upsells, free pouches, accessories, samples, or bonus items.


Step 7: Save and test


  1. Click Save in FoxSell.
  2. Click View Bundle in Shopify Admin

  1. Assign the product template to Bundle Product

  1. Open bundle page on the storefront
  2. Test each step, add the bundle to cart, and check the checkout experience.
